When submitting an article, the author(s)' identification and institutional affiliation must be filled out in the Publication/Evaluation Authorization Form, including authorship information and financial data for payment of the fees presented, should your article be approved.

When writing the article, the following guidelines must be observed:

The text must be submitted in Portuguese (properly revised), typed in Word for Windows, Arial font, size 10, and 1.5 line spacing. All pages of the original must be numbered sequentially. The text must also contain a minimum of 15,000 and a maximum of 30,000 characters, including spaces but excluding the abstract.

The article title must have a maximum of 15 words, in Arial font, size 12.

The abstract (Portuguese and English) must contain between 200 and 250 words and explicitly include, in an informative manner and without listing topics, the following items: general theme and research problem; objectives and/or hypotheses; methodology used; main results and conclusions. It should be in Arial font, size 10, single spacing, top and bottom margins 2.5 cm, left and right margins 1.5 cm. A single paragraph is recommended, using active voice and the third person singular, concise and affirmative sentences. Avoid: neologisms, bibliographic citations, symbols and contractions that are not common usage, as well as formulas, equations, diagrams, etc., that are not absolutely necessary. The journal is not responsible for the English version of the Abstract and Keywords, and the use of Google Translate for the Abstract and Keywords is prohibited. Authors who do not master the foreign language are recommended to hire a translator after the article is approved.

Keywords (Portuguese and English) must be 3 to 5 words, in Arial font, size 10, single spacing, separated by semicolons.

The Introduction; Theoretical Development; Final Considerations; and Bibliographic References must be laid out in two columns (7.5 cm width), top and bottom margins 2.5 cm, left and right margins 1.5 cm, observing official spelling. Justified paragraphs with a 1.0 cm indentation, and titles centered/uppercase.

Tables, charts, graphs, and figures (photos, drawings, and maps) must be numbered in Arabic numerals according to the order in which they appear, always referenced in the body of the text and preceded by their respective title. Immediately below the figures, their respective textual captions must appear (Times New Roman, size 9, single spacing). Maps must contain scales and graphic legends.

Images must be black and white or color, digitally scanned in JPG format with a resolution of at least 300 dpi, and presented in dimensions that allow enlargement or reduction without compromising legibility. All images must be sent separately, in their original files. The name of each file must correspond to the image name (e.g., Graph 1).

Explanatory footnotes should be avoided, used only when strictly necessary for understanding the text and having a maximum length of three lines. Notes must be numbered in Arabic numerals according to the order in which they appear in the text.

QUOTATIONS WITHIN THE BODY OF THE TEXT MUST FOLLOW THESE CRITERIA:

• Direct quotations of up to three lines must be incorporated into the paragraph, transcribed in quotation marks, and accompanied by the following information in parentheses: author's last name, year of publication, and page number(s);
• Direct quotations of more than three lines must be in a separate paragraph, with a 2 cm indent on the left margin, size 10, without quotation marks, and single spacing;
• If there is no direct quotation but only a reference to the author, the author's last name must be indicated in parentheses, in uppercase, along with the year of publication referred to.

BIBLIOGRAPHIC REFERENCES

References must follow technical standard NBR6023 of 08/30/2002, from the Brazilian Association of Technical Standards (ABNT) or APA (da American Psychological Association). Only works cited throughout the text should appear in the bibliography, which must be included under the title References, at the end of the article and on a separate page.

STATISTICAL METHODS

When used, statistical methods must be described in sufficient detail to allow access to the original data and verification of the results presented by a reader versed in the subject; at the same time, excessively technical language should be avoided, and they should be presented with sufficient clarity to facilitate understanding by a non-specialized reader. This request to authors requires measures such as: whenever possible, quantify results and present them with corresponding measurement error or uncertainty indicators (e.g., confidence intervals); avoid relying solely on statistical inference tests, which do not convey relevant quantitative information; discuss the eligibility of experimental units; provide detailed information on randomization and observations; discuss the reasonableness of the results and report possible limitations of the method used; specify the computer programs used; restrict tables and figures to the amount necessary to explain the article's rationale and its solidity; avoid tables with many topics and data duplication; define statistical terms, abbreviations, and symbols used in the article.
